Mr. Derek Laczniak
Cyber Liability Director, Account Executive

Mr. Derek Laczniak is an Account Executive with M3 Insurance Solutions. In addition to assisting clients with their overall property and casualty needs, he has expertise in analyzing client’s cyber and data risk exposure. To keep up in this area Derek attends and presents at Cyber Security summits across the United States.

He also works with clients to ensure that their coverage continues to meet their changing needs. Principle to this goal is ensuring standard lines of coverage are constantly evolving. This is most critical in the Property, General Liability, Auto Liability, and Workers Compensation lines of coverage. His experience and training using advanced data analytics allows him to forecast changes on these traditional lines ahead of market and industry trends. Derek specializes in working with clients that make up the Technology, Professional Services, Banking, and Manufacturing industry sectors, matching coverage needs with critical timing.

Derek graduated with honors with his double major in Risk Management and Economics from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Before joining M3 Derek grew up in the Insurance Agency business, first working for his parent’s brokerage, and then for Bottcher & Associates in La Crosse. Derek continues to be involved with his Alma Mater as a Board of Director for the Business School and by doing speaking engagements to the Insurance Division at La Crosse. Derek is a licensed agent for property and casualty insurance in Wisconsin and a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He sits on the steering committee for the Wisconsin Innovation Awards and is a National Panel Member for Travelers Insurance Technology practice. He is pursuing his Certified Risk Manager (CRM) designation with hopes of continuing on to complete his Law Degree.

Nathan Nissen
Principal Engineer, Sustainability
the Kohler Company

Nathan has worked in an environmental leadership role with the Kohler Co. Global Environmental Health and Safety department since 1989.  For the last nine years, he has been focused on sustainability. He has been on the Kohler Environmental Leadership Team since it was first founded; this group manages the company sustainability strategy.

Nathan’s career has evolved through hazardous waste management and elimination, emergency response planning, environmental management systems, and industrial waste recycling. Today he is coordinating Kohler Co.’s environmental footprint reporting and reduction efforts.

Nathan has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. He is an amateur bee keeper, a licensed Professional Engineer and a Toastmaster.

Neil Peters-Michaud
CEO & co-Founder
Cascade Asset Management

Neil Peters-Michaud is the CEO and co-founder of Cascade Asset Management, an IT Asset Disposition firm with headquarters in Madison, WI and a second processing facility in Indianapolis. Neil is a Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) and is a member of the Joint Committee developing the new EPEAT standard for servers.

He has worked in Ethiopia to assist in the development of a demonstration electronics reuse and recycling program in partnership with US EPA, the World Bank, and StEP.

Neil received his BS and MBA from the University of Wisconsin. He is married and has two children.
