Compliance Manager - Posted June 30, 2010
The Compliance Manager will lead Cascade’s comprehensive security, quality, environmental and safety compliance programs in order to meet customer and internal requirements, regulatory and external demands, and expectations across multiple facilities throughout the United States. The Compliance Manager is responsible for development, implementation, and monitoring of an integrated compliance program, which will include industry standards established by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID), e-Stewards, and ISO 14001 as well as applicable regulatory requirements established by programs such as OSHA, DOT, and other regulatory agencies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree with rigorous analytical requirements (i.e. engineering, sciences, statistics, project management, environmental sciences)
- 2+ years experience in the compliance field in a manufacturing or similar environment
- Demonstrated project management experience with exceptional follow-through, attention to detail, and results orientation
- Demonstrated experience working effectively with leadership
- High integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to accountability
- Experience with leading ISO-based management systems, Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology
- Ability to initiate, facilitate and lead improvement teams and create trust throughout the company
- Strong quantitative capabilities with exemplary analytical and statistical skills. Experience establishing and tracking program metrics.
- A proven track record of driving compliance and process improvement changes
- Independent worker who is motivated to meet and exceed performance objectives and able to prioritize tasks
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment and to multi-task effectively
- Willingness and ability to travel for audits and reviews
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and monitor company compliance with industry and internal standards and external regulations such as OSHA, DOT.
- Conduct internal compliance investigations and present findings and recommendations to management.
- Maintain the corrective and preventative action reporting system and report regularly to senior management regarding progress towards close out of all open items.
- Coordinate with all departments to develop, implement and audit process improvement programs, including NAID and e-Stewards.
- Develop and manage Cascade’s comprehensive compliance and continuous improvement program by working directly with management and operations staff to ensure processes and systems are easily replicated across multiple locations,
- Provide analytical expertise to teams in developing metrics and measurements,
- Develop and perform compliance training and ensure that all appropriate employees comply with standards,
- Work with teams as necessary to address barriers to compliance or process improvement success.
- Mentor all staff in achieving a more in-depth understanding and application of compliance, quality, security, safety and environmental programs.
- Provide expert advice to customers as a resource to the sales and marketing team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide high quality customer service to our customers on the telephone and occasionally in person
- Research customer issues and work to resolve problems
- Collaborate with all departments to meet customer needs
- Manage multiple priorities and ensure adequate follow-up to the customer
- Scheduling customer pickups, invoicing, and reporting for customers.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience
- Prefer telephone based customer service experience in a professional, office setting
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office
